Leslie Baskin is a native of Jackson, Mississippi, and the owner of Leslie Baskin Designs. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Art. After receiving her degree, Leslie became a high school educator at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Ridgeland, Mississippi from 2012-2018. She taught fine art and developed a new graphic design program during her tenure at the school. Since graduating from Ole Miss, Leslie has also consistently worked as a freelance artist for local and regional businesses, individuals, and charitable organizations. During her years as a teacher, Leslie continued her education at Mississippi College and earned her Masters in Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2018.
Over the last fifteen years, Leslie has grown her business with clients throughout the Southeast. Through her experience, she gained a love and appreciation for fine paper and typography. Leslie specializes in clean and modern logo design, branding, print media, and advertising.
As a maturing artist, Leslie became fascinated with paper and began developing her own form of fiber art. Leslie creates handmade paper while working natural materials into the fibers such as dried flower petals from her garden (or a bride’s bouquet!). Leslie likes to finish each piece by hand stitching designs into the composition. Many of her works are inspired by the landscapes of her southern heritage.
Leslie lives in Jackson, Mississippi, with her husband, Brad, their two daughters, Olivia and Evelyn, and their dog, Rosie. Her studio can be found in Fondren Corner, 2906 North State Street, Suite 101-B, Jackson, Mississippi 39216.
